David J. Edwards, age 64, a resident of rural Ridgeville, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at his home following an extended illness.
David was born July 7, 1958, the son of Harry Lee and Mariam (Martin) Edwards.
David was employed by First Fleet Transportation in Bluffton for 15 years. He also was self-employed as a welder/fabricator, car salesman, shoe salesman, landlord and janitorial serviceman. He also had his own trash route for many years.
David was a member of Farmland Conservation Club. He was president of the Shoot to Retrieve Club for several years. He avidly enjoyed training hunting dogs and liked to bird and rabbit hunt. He was a Jehovah Witness.

His wife — Diana Edwards, rural Ridgeville, Indiana
Children — Chris Landess (wife Jamie), Winchester, Indiana, Amber Elzey, Ridgeville, Indiana, and Bryce Harvey (wife: Chelsea), Modoc, Indiana
Sister-in-law — Edith Edwards, Alanson, Michigan
Grandchildren — Kearston Elzey and Haygn Bowler, Ridgeville, Indiana
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mariam Edwards; and a brother, Marion Lee Edwards.
David will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, at Antioch Cemetery, southeast of Portland.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
