David Pfeifer, age 74, Portland passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at his home with loved ones by his side.
Dave was born Nov. 15, 1948, the son of Carl Robert Jr. and Wanda Marie (Mays) Pfeifer. Dave attended Portland High School and worked several different places over the years as a maintenance technician, mechanic, carpenter and an overall jack of all trades.
Dave loved spending time with his daughters and granddaughters, and got to meet his great-grandson. He also loved his two crazy cats. Dave enjoyed fishing and could filet and fry the best tasting fish for his family. In his younger years, Dave enjoyed working on derby cars, driving trucks in mud bogs and tinkering on any kind of vehicle he could get his hands on.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wanda and Carl Pfeifer.
Survivors include daughters:
Daughters — Melissa Denney (husband: Chuck), Portland, and Kristan Pfeifer, Noblesville
Siblings — Cindy Shaneyfelt, Portland, Susie Ford, Michigan, and Patricia Joyner, Michigan
Granddaughters — Kailee Osterholt (husband: John), Pacie Denney and Addison Denney
Great-grandson — Hayes Osterholt
Nephew — David Shaneyfelt
Dave’s daughters would like to give a special thank you to Pastor Steve Arnold for the visit and prayers, and to Cindy and David Shaneyfelt for helping provide care and support during this time.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to The Jay County Humane Society.
