Jay County Campus of Arts Place’s community choir performs next week.
A Choired Taste takes the stage at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Asbury United Methodist Church in Portland. The performance by 20 choir members will include secular and religious choral works, including songs from the musicals “Chicago” and “Funny Girl,” as well as music by Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Franz Joseph Haydn, John Rutter and others, according to a press release from Arts Place.
The concert is free. No tickets or registration is needed.

Charles W. Brown Planetarium at Ball State University has several shows this month. Its schedule starts as early as tonight.
Upcoming events — all shows are free — include the following:
•“Eclipse: The Sun Revealed,” an informational show about solar and lunar eclipses at 6:30 p.m. today, May 19 and June 9
•“One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure,” a program following Sesame Street characters as they explore the night sky, at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20 and June 10
•“Sky Skills,” an exploration into the night sky as seasons changes and sky charts, at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 20 and June 10
•“We Are Stars,” a program narrated by Andy Serkis responding to questions about the cosmos and the evolution of the universe, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20 and June 10
Hall of Fame
Cincinnatus League is looking for nominees to its Jay County Hall of Fame.
The event honors Jay County residents who have provided a lifetime of volunteer service to the community.
To be eligible for consideration, nominees must be 65 or older. Nominations are due by May 31, with the induction ceremony set for July 12 at Jay County Fair.
