Danny Cox

Danny R. “Dan” Cox, age 86, of Angola and formerly of Portland, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, in Cedars Retirement Center in Leo.
He was born in Fort Wayne on Nov. 25, 1936, the son of Burl and Evelyn (Barge) Cox. He was married on Oct. 6, 1983, to Linda Ferguson and she passed on July 12, 2016.
Dan retired from International Harvester after 40 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and member of American Legion Post #211 in Portland.
Surviving are three sons, Robert Cox of Freemont, Indiana, Richard Cox of Melbourne, Florida, and Scott Cox of Fort Wayne; three daughters, Renee Klink of Angola, Rhonda Cox of Orlando, Florida, and Raelynn Cox of Angola; three stepsons, Michael Bibler of Kearney, Nebraska, Peter Bibler of Beijing and Matthew Bibler of Niles, Michigan; one brother, Jerry Cox of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Melody Pucher of Fort Wayne and Cindy Reneau of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David Cox; and a sister, Carol Fry.
Graveside services will be Saturday, May 13, 2023, at noon in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland with military rites by American Legion Post #211.
The Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, 221 N. Meridian St., Portland, Indiana, is handling the arrangements.
