Lissa Le Houser, 52, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Sept. 21, 2023, in Westfield, Indiana.
Born in 1971 and named for her great-grandmother, “Lissie” Houser, she was the second daughter of Linda Hall and the late C. Jay Houser. She graduated from Jay County High School in 1990 and later attended Manchester University.
Lissa loved autumn and Halloween was her favorite holiday. Although she could be quiet and reserved, nothing escaped her keen observation, evidenced by her dry sense of humor and her gift for impersonations. She kept us in stitches with her uncanny imitation of the “Munchkins” from the musical, “The Wizard of Oz” (1939).
An enthusiastic reader, especially of mystery novels, and an avid lover of animals, Lissa will be greatly missed by her dedicated mother, Linda Hall, of Indianapolis; and her loving sister, Betsy Houser, of Huntsville, Alabama. Two half-brothers also survive Lissa — Craig Jeff Houser CW5 (RET) of Rushville, Indiana, and Eric Houser of Richmond, Indiana.
Preceding her in death was her father, C. Jay Houser; and grandparents Roger and Rosemary Williams.
Given that throughout Lissa's adult life she valued privacy, we have chosen to honor her with a small intimate service. There will be no public ceremony or calling hours.
The family invites you to donate to Jay County’s public library or humane society in her memory.
