Car towed
A Hartford City man’s vehicle was towed after striking a deer on Indiana 1 in Jay County about 7:13 a.m. Thursday.
Nicholas D. Price, 24, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu north on the highway when he hit a deer. The same animal had also been struck by a southbound vehicle, throwing it into Price’s path. Damage is estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
Backing accident
A Muncie man backed his car into a Portland woman’s vehicle on Harrison Street about 6:55 p.m. Tuesday.
Eddie G. Roser, 66, told police he was backing up his 2005 Chevrolet Equinox at the intersection of Harrison and Votaw streets to give room for another car to turn.
He didn’t notice the 2016 Hyundai Tucson driven by 25-year-old Lindsey A. Jenkins behind him, and his vehicle struck Jenkins’ car.
Damage is estimated between $1,000 and 2,500.
