Schwieterman leads Junior High
The Schwietermans have had a strong hold of Jay County girls basketball.
Renna holds the school record in career points. Hallie has gotten off to a strong start for her freshman season on varsity. Karsyn isn’t far behind in making a name for herself as well.
Karsyn Schweiterman broke out for a huge first junior high basketball game for the Jay County Junior High basketball team on Monday. She led the seventh grade Patriots to a 33-25 victory over the Norwell Middle School Knights while the eighth grade team fell to the Knights 43-29.
Schweiterman had over half of the Patriots’ (1-0) points as she poured 20 into the basket.
Following her was Charlee Peters with seven, Claudia Dirksen with four and Kaddy Stout with two.
The eighth grade team (0-1) had a more even distribution of points. Gabi Petro led the way with seven points. Right behind her were Raylin Hummer and Natalie May with six apiece. The final 10 points came from Elizabeth Brunswick and Amelia Heath who each scored five.
