Patriots to host Winchester

INDIANAPOLIS — The Patriots beat all three potential sectional opponents during the regular season.

On Monday, they learned which team they will face first.

The IHSAA released sectional brackets for boys tennis Monday evening, with the Jay County High School boys tennis team drawing the Winchester Golden Falcons.

They will face off at Jay County at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Union City and Randolph Southern will meet in the other semifinal, also at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Jay County (10-8) swept Winchester during its regular-season match Sept. 14.

The Golden Falcons forfeited the No. 3 singles position in the match, while the Patriots swept the No. 1 and 2 singles matches.

If the Patriots win on Wednesday, they will face the winner of Union City and Randolph Southern on Thursday at 5 p.m. for a spot in the regional tournament at Noblesville.

The Patriots beat Randolph Southern 4-1 on Sept. 5 and Union City 3-2 on Aug. 21.
