The Red Wolves' spring golf season started a little over a month ago.
Having competed in four competitions, Jalyn Bruns already looks to be in top form.
The 2022 Fort Recovery High School graduate finished 24th at the Trine Spring Classic at Zollner Golf Course to propel the IU-East women’s golf team to a third-place finish out of 13 teams.
The meet that took place on March 29 had 95 golfers competing, putting Bruns in the top quarter of competitors. She finished 13 strokes over par to finish behind teammates Liv Sanders (third place) and Brooklynn Cromwell (eighth place).
On Tuesday, Bruns golfed in The Northeast Tennessee Spring Shootout at The Johnsonville Country Club. Playing all 18 holes, Bruns shot a 177 (33 strokes over par) to tie for 25th place (there were 44 total golfers) with Sanders and Olivia Baker of University of Virginia at Wise.
The Red Wolves ended up finishing sixth out of eight teams.

Taylor scored two runs in the first and two in the third, but Arbuckle locked them down for his final three innings. The Foresters (18-12) matched the two runs in the first and third, while also scoring one in the fifth to give Arbuckle the win.
