Unlawful possession
Two Portland residents were arrested Wednesday for unlawful possession of syringes.
Mathew J. Campofiore Audet, 31, 3982 S. West St., and Shane L. Williams, 47, 520 E. Walnut St., were each charged with a Level 6 felony for the alleged crime.
They were both being held on $3,000 bonds in Jay County Jail.
Probation violation
A Daleville woman was arrested Wednesday for violating her probation.
Margaret E. Welter, 52, 9404 S. Greenway Drive, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, in Jay Superior Court. She was sentenced to one year in Jay County Jail with 327 days suspended and given 38 days credit. In August 2022, a petition alleging she violated the conditions of her probation was filed in court, and a warrant for her arrest was issued.
She was released on a $700 bond from Jay County Jail.
