Michael Walker

Michael Wayne Walker, 77, Portland, passed suddenly at his home on Saturday, April 27, 2024.  

The son of Floyd and Nema (Hatzel) Walker was born on Dec. 15, 1946.  Mike grew up in Redkey, Indiana, graduated from Redkey High School and played basketball during his time there. 

Mike was the owner of Mike’s Auto Sales in Portland, Indiana, and retired from Fort Recovery Industries after 18 years of employment. He enjoyed fishing, trap shooting and all things outdoors throughout his life. 

Mike leaves behind his son Brandon Walker (Cara Cramer); her children Kris Petty and Alexis Bentz as well as five bonus grandchildren; his long-time girlfriend Debbie Hart; a sister, Pam Walker of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. 

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother James M. Walker. 

Cremation services will be handled by The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, and he will be interred with his brother at Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey, Indiana.
