Lost control
A Union City man was arrested this week after he attempted to pass a Winchester man’s car on U.S. 27 and lost control of his vehicle, causing an accident about 10:33 p.m. Wednesday.
Suchite A. Feliciano, 55, was driving a 2004 Ford Explorer south on the highway behind a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado driven by 61-year-old Mike E. Sharp of Winchester.
Feliciano began passing Sharp’s car. According to a Jay County Sheriff’s Office report, Feliciano was driving at an unsafe speed and lost control of his car on the slick road, causing him to strike the side of Sharp’s car and run it off the road.
Feliciano was booked into Jay County Jail and preliminarily charged with operating a vehicle without a license, a Class C misdemeanor. He was being held on a $1,000 bond.
Both vehicles were towed, with damage estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
