Community Reinforcement And Family Training (CRAFT), a group for empowering families for recovery, is now available in Jay County. Intended for family members or friends of those struggling with substance use disorder, the free group focuses on rediscovering self-care, learning to let go of shame, building coping skills and learning how to help loved ones.
CRAFT meets Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at IU Health Outpatient Behavioral Health, 510 W. Votaw St., Portland. There is no cost. To learn more, call (260) 726-1960.
Festival of trees
It’s time for another Fort Recovery tradition.
Fort Festival of the Trees, an annual holiday celebration put on by Fort Recovery Friends of the Library, is going on at Fort Recovery Public Library now through Dec. 31 during normal business hours. Visitors to the library may pick from 20 decorated trees and vote on their favorite.
Trees were decorated by local businesses, organizations, families and individuals.
The tree with the most votes will earn the People’s Choice Award this year.
Museum hosting
Today is the last day to see The Art of Elizabeth Catlett from the Collection of Samella Lewis atThe David Owsley Museum of Art at Ball State University.
Lewis was a professor emerita of art history at Scripps College in Claremont, California. He was a student under Catlett, a sculptor and printmaker recognized as one of the most significant African American artists in the 20th century, in the 1940s.
The museum is located at 2021 W. Riverside Ave., Muncie, in the Ball State University fine arts building.
It is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
