Cathleen Plodzien

Cathleen Marie Plodzien, age 75, of Portland and formerly of Crystal Lake, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.  

She was born on Oct. 26, 1948, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Aden (Hart) Kittredge.

Cathleen was retired as a benefits manager for Power Conversion Products and also worked for Nunda Township in Crystal Lake. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa sorority and enjoyed working with stained glass, antiques, books, animals and nature. She was a selfless person and loved helping others.

Surviving are a son, Michael Plodzien (wife: Monica) of Portland; brother Todd Plodzien (wife: Chris) of McHenry, Illinois; two sisters, Debby Kittridge of Dickenson, Texas, and Cindy Bonaccorsi of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, Noah, Sydney, Christian, Alexa and Liam; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Plodzien.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
