MINSTER, Ohio — The Indians survive for another week.
The Fort Recovery High School boys bowling team combined for 3,740 pins at the OHSAA Division II sectional bowling tournament at Community Lanes in Minster on Thursday to net third place and move on to the district tournament.
The top four teams advanced to the district tournament at Star Lanes in Port Clinton, Ohio, along with the top four individuals not on advancing teams. The Indians finished in third behind Coldwater (4,340) and St. Henry (3,813) and just ahead of Minster (3,690).
Lucas Acheson put together the strongest day with 631 pins over three individual games, to place third among all bowlers. Acheson rolled the only perfect game at the sectional, striking all 12 times in his second game.
Nate Jutte also had a strong day with an average pinfall of 191.3 to finish with the sixth-best performance.
