Waldo Hudson Sr., age 85, a former resident of Salamonia, passed away on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at Albany Health and Rehab in Albany, Indiana.
Waldo was born on Sept. 17, 1938, in Jay County, Indiana, the son of Francis and Marie (Skinner) Hudson. He graduated from Saratoga High School and served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 24 years.
Waldo retired from Sheller-Globe in Union City after 24 years of service. He was a member of Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association and American Legion Post #211 of Portland.
Waldo married Nilah (Landers) on Jan. 7, 1960, and she passed away on March 16, 2021.

1 sister: Marie Joyce Hagerman (husband Herm), Churubusco, Indiana
Nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Clevenger; a brother, Steven Hudson; and a great-grandson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Phil Rogers will officiate and burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana. American Legion Post #211 of Portland will conduct military rites at the funeral home.
