FORT RECOVERY — The Indians won four of their first six games.
Since then, they have had a tough time getting back into the win column, and the Cavaliers didn’t want to change that.
The Coldwater Cavaliers got a big performance from Luke Schwieterman as they stayed perfect in Midwest Athletic Conference play with a 57-32 win over the Fort Recovery High School boys basketball team Friday.
The Indians (4-10, 0-4 MAC) couldn’t quiet Schwieterman, who exploded for 24 points. He hit three triples and shot a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Briggs Overman put up a team-high 11 points for Fort Recovery, with no one else scoring more than six points.
Overman had six of his points in the opening period as FRHS put up 10. Schwieterman countered the Indians’ offense, scoring all 12 of the Cavaliers’ points.
Owen Kunk provided a spark in the second and third quarters when he scored 10 of his 12 points to help Coldwater (10-2, 4-0 MAC) pull away.
Gavin Evers had the second-most points for Fort Recovery with six. Gavin Faller added five and Mason Diller had four.
