Judy Eglan

Judy Eglan, age 62, of Portland passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at her residence.

She was born in Portland on April 26, 1961, the daughter of Richard and Genny (Boolman) Newton. Judy was retired from FCC in Portland. She was a 1979 Jay County High School graduate.

Surviving are one daughter, April Ludy (husband: Steve) of Greer, South Carolina; her mother Genny Newton of Portland; sister Sandy Newton of Portland; three grandsons, Bailey, Mason and Peyton Ludy; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nyoka Smith; a brother, Richard Newton; and her father, Richard Newton.

The family will receive guests from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday Jan. 20, 2024, in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home.
