‘Sound of Music’ JCCT auditions are July 29, 30

Auditions for Jay County Civic Theatre’s production of “The Sound of Music” are slated for the end of this month.

The local theatre group is hosting auditions from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 29 and July 30 at Jay County Campus of Arts Place, 131 E. Walnut St., Portland. Performances are slated for 7 p.m. Dec. 5, 6, 7, 13 and 14, and 2 p.m. Dec. 15. Email jaycounty [email protected] for more information.

Seeking artists

Arts Place is looking for current, new or emerging artists to submit proposals for portable cultural planning studios.

The studios are planned for Jay and Blackford counties in Indiana and Auglaize County in Ohio. Commissioned by Arts Place, the studios will be funded through a National Endowment for the Arts Our Town Grant. Artists can submit proposals for one, two or all three studios.

Contest open

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources’ license card background artwork contest is underway.
