There are multiple different ways to win baseball games.
A strong offensive performance will often get you where you need to go.
Four players put up big numbers for Cook’s Nursery in its 12-3 win over Pak-A-Sak on Wednesday in Portland Junior League Rookie baseball.
Kayden Alberson, Trey Hirschey, Max May and Steven Robbins had no troubles with a bat in their hands as all four players finished 3-for-3 at the plate. Hirschey crushed a home run to go along with a pair of singles, while Alberson smacked two doubles and a single. Each of May’s and Robbins’ hits were good for one base each.
Kolby Armstrong matched Alberson with two doubles in the game. Cook’s Nursery also got a pair of hits from Zach May and Duke Steed.
Cage Reynolds led Pak-A-Sak offensively, finishing 3-for-3. He slashed a triple and a double while driving in two runs. Paxson Hudson also went 3-for-3 while Ricky Heitkamp followed with two hits in three at bats.
