Evelyn Green

Evelyn Green, age 92, of Portland passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, in The Waters of St Henry, Ohio.

She was born in Salamonia on Jan. 16, 1932, the daughter of Kenneth and Ida Fern (Kunkle) Hilfiker. She was married on April 4, 1953, to William Green and he passed away on Dec. 3, 2006. She was a Madison Township High School graduate, member of Salamonia VFW Auxiliary, Salamonia Women’s Fire Auxiliary and St. James Lutheran Church. She was retired from MSSL in 2016 and had worked at CTS.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Green (wife: Heather) of Portland and Donald Green of Portland; and one granddaughter, Bryndle.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Robin Owen presiding. Burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
