COLDWATER, Ohio — Anna Roessner had a strong season last in 2023.
The junior is now in the midst of a full breakout season and it’s full steam ahead.
Roessner had a record setting day as the Fort Recovery track teams finished in the middle of the pack at the Mercer County Meet hosted by Coldwater on Thursday.
The girls tallied 99.5 points to come in third as Celina won with 118.
The boys totaled 38 for fourth place (out of six) and Marion Local (156) took the top spot.
Roessner broke four records in the meet.
She set new FRHS school records in the 400-meter run (58.21 seconds) and the 200 dash (25.08 seconds, second place). Roesnner already held the 200, but broke Cassidy Martin’s 400 run record from 2016 (58.73).
She also broke meet records in the 400 run and 100 dash (12.32 seconds).
The 4x100 relay team of Paige Guggenbiller, Kiana Matsuda, Madison Heitkamp and Mara Pearson broke the meet record with a time of 51.08 seconds.
Other first-place finishes belong to Trevor Heitkamp in the 1,600 run (4 minutes, 26.52 seconds) and the 3,200 run (9:43.56), Karlie Niekamp in the discus (110 feet, 9 inches) and Natalie Brunswick in the 1,600 run (5:17.06).
