Resisting arrest
An Albany man was arrested after he crashed the car he was driving along county road 700 West about 10:28 p.m. Wednesday.
Ashton E. Branham, 19, was driving a 2004 Ford Mustang north on county road 700 West just west north of county road 300 South when he hit a dirt mound. Branham had been driving at a high rate of speed while driving away from police, according to a Jay County Sheriff’s Office report.
He was preliminarily charged with a Level 6 felony for resisting law enforcement and a Class C misdemeanor for criminal recklessness. Branham was released from Jay County Jail on a $4,000 bond. Damage is estimated between $2,500 and $5,000, and the vehicle was towed.
