Kenneth C. Vondrell, 63, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024.
He was born on Feb. 9, 1961, in Coldwater, Ohio, to Leon Vondrell and the late Rosaline "Rosie" (Post) Vondrell.
In addition to his father, Ken is survived by his sisters, Debra (David) Handley and Julia (Duane) Wilder, all of Fort Wayne, Indiana; his nieces and nephews, Kurt (Kristin) Handley, Kevin (Amie White) Handley, Carla Drudge, Jeffrey (Sydney) Wilder, Daniel (Megan) Wilder and Christina (Nicholas) Sethman; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Amberlin, Atticus, Lillian, Ariana, Taylor and Abigail.
Ken graduated from South Adams High School in 1979. He was an avid car enthusiast. If it had an engine, Ken loved it. He enjoyed going to car shows and races. He visited many NASCAR tracks and attended several races over the years. Ken also enjoyed going to Eldora each year for dirt track racing.
Ken worked for Ron Garrett Chevrolet in Fort Recovery and then in Greenville until 2014 as their New Car Manager. He was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Fort Recovery, and the Fort Recovery Sons of the American Legion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Guests may visit with his family on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, from 3 to 6 p.m. and again on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the church for memorial Masses or the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
