Robert Holley
Robert “Bob” Holley, age 84, a resident of Muncie, passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, at The Waters Edge Nursing Home in Muncie. He was a former Portland resident.
Bob was born March 23, 1940, in Portland, the son of Orville and Lelia (Stoner) Holley. He graduated from Governor I.P. Gray High School in 1958 and served in the U.S. Army in Germany.
Bob retired in 2004 from General Motors Transmission Plant in Muncie after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Albany American Legion, Matthews Mason Lodge #650, Shriners, Museum of the Soldier in Portland and Jay County Historical Society, and was one of four founding members of the Memory Lane Cruisers in Muncie.

Two daughters — Kecia Sadler, Gaston, Indiana, and Kristi Kearney, Hartford City, Indiana
Step-children — Cristeena Collins, Muncie, Indiana, and Jason Wright, Muncie, Indiana
Cousin — Sandy Lay (husband: Jerry), Miamisburg, Ohio
Six grandchildren and great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Lelia Holley; and a brother, Eldon Holley.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Darrel Borders will officiate and burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana. Portland American Legion Post #211 will conduct military graveside rites.
Memorials may be directed towards Jay County Historical Society.
