The Joneses recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Claudia Baughman and Richard Jones wed July 27, 1974, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Portland.
Richard Jones retired from Jay School Corporation, and Claudia Jones retired from Jay County Hospital.
The rural Portland couple have lived in Jay County for 70 years. Their children are John and Carla Tangeman of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and Kevin and Dana McCabe of Huntersville, North Carolina. They also have five grandchildren.
Richard and Claudia Jones planned to celebrate with a 10-day cruise of northern Europe with friends and a week in Panama City Beach, Florida, with family.
