Domestic battery

A Portland man was arrested Monday for domestic battery.

Gregory A. Cash, 58, 7461 W. Division Road, was preliminarily charged with a Level 5 felony.

He was being held in Jay County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Drug possession

A Portland man was arrested Monday for possession of methamphetamine.

Robert J. Balle, 51, 623 1/2 E Votaw St., was preliminarily charged with a Level 6 felony.

He was being held on a $3,000 bond in Jay County Jail.

Probation violation

A Geneva man was arrested Tuesday for violating his probation.

Nicholas J. Gerber, 24, 425 N. Railroad St., pleaded guilty in Jay Circuit Court to child solicitation, a Level 5 felony. He was sentenced to four years in Indiana Department of Correction with all but 16 months suspended. A petition alleging he violated the conditions of his probation was filed in court Aug. 13.

Gerber was released on a $10,000 from Jay County Jail.
