Unlawful possession
Three people were sentenced to jail for unlawful possession of a syringe.
Spencer E. McCombs, 33, 155 Orange Ave., Dunkirk, pleaded guilty in Jay Superior Court to unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to 910 days in Jay County Jail with all but 22 days suspended and given 22 days credit for time served. McCombs was fined $25, assessed $189 in court costs and placed on probation for 888 days.
Jason M. Bost, 26, 309 N. Pershing Drive, Muncie, pleaded guilty in Jay Superior Court to unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to one year in Jay County Jail with all but 54 days suspended and given 54 days credit for time served. Bost was fined $1, assessed $189 in court costs and placed on probation for 311 days. He was also ordered to submit to an evaluation within 30 days of his sentencing for substance abuse counseling. As part of his plea agreement, a Class C misdemeanor for possession of paraphernalia was dismissed.
Bradley A. Gonzalez, 41, 2108 East Indiana Ave., Muncie, pleaded guilty in Jay Superior Court to unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to 180 days in Jay County Jail and given credit for time served. Gonzalez was fined $1 and assessed $189 in court costs.
