The Jay County High School homecoming parade has been canceled.
The school announced shortly after 10 a.m. today that the parade is canceled because of safety concerns related to the weather forecast. The National Weather Service is calling for windy conditions with gusts up to 45 miles per hour.
As of 10 a.m., the football game at 7:30 p.m. against the Woodlan Warriors was still on as scheduled. The crowning of the homecoming king and queen was still planned for halftime.
Post-game student activities that were planned to be held outdoors will instead be held in the school’s auxiliary gym.
