FORT RECOVERY — The Tribe thought it would have to hit the road, but the weather conditions brought the Jets to its home.
Some early offense and good pitching only made its day better.
The Fort Recovery High School baseball team picked up a 5-1 victory over the Adams Central Jets in a game that was originally scheduled to take place in Monroe, Indiana, but got moved to Ohio due to rainy weather.
The Indians (2-1) struck first on a two-out single by Mason Diller in the bottom of the first. Two more runs scored in the second as Colson Post crossed on an error and Gavin Evers finished his trip around the bases on a passed ball.
FRHS got two more runs on a home run by Caden Grisez in the fourth inning.
Alex Gaerke toed the rubber in the first five innings against Adams Central (0-1), striking out nine batters and not allowing a single run on three hits and two walks.
Jacob Foote took Fort Recovery the rest of the way, surrendering one run on a home run by Jacob Miller over the final two frames.
