Arts Place to show free holiday movies
Arts Place is hosting free Christmas movie showings this holiday season.
Showings are set for:
•Wednesday, Dec. 17 — The Santa Claus at 1 p.m. and Home Alone at 6:30 p.m.
•Monday, Dec. 22 — The Muppet Christmas Carol at 1 p.m. and The Nightmare Before Christmas at 6:30 p.m.
•Tuesday, Dec. 23 — Noelle at 1 p.m. and The Polar Express at 6:30 p.m.
•Tuesday, Dec. 30 — Jack Frost at 1 p.m. and A Christmas Story at 6:30 p.m.
•Friday, Jan. 2 — Miracle on 34th Street at 1 p.m.

Santa quiet time
Jayland Partners hosts its annual Christmas party. It’s also bringing a new sensory-friendly experience to the table.
Jayland Partners will provide “Quiet time with Santa” from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Bryant Wesleyan Church, 1209 S. Hendricks St. Community members are invited to join for hot cocoa, photos and gifts.
The free experience precedes Jayland Partners’ party for people with special needs and their families and caregivers, with the event slated for 2 to 4 p.m. at the church. Folks are invited to join for snacks, dancing and other fun.

Church performance
Grace Bible Church of Berne will perform “Long Foretold: the Journey of the Magi,” at 10 a.m. Dec. 21.
Written by Lindsay Finley, the story traces the roots of the Christmas story farther back than the manger in Bethlehem. The production is accompanied by a choral performance. Admission is free, and the community is invited to participate.
Blue Christmas
Trinity Lutheran Church will host a Blue Christmas prayer service this month.
The service begins at 7 p.m. Dec. 22 at the church, 301 Wayne St., Fort Recovery. The public is invited to attend.
