Curtis "Curt" Leroy Rines, 85, of Ridgeville passed away peacefully at his home on Dec. 10.
He was born at home in Portland on Feb. 17, 1940, to Clyde and Lillia Rines. He attended Gray High School before eventually going to work at Fort Recovery Industries where he worked until he retired in 2001.
Curt met the love of his life Mary-Ann in 1960 and they went on to get married on Jan. 28, 1961, at the Nazarene Church in Ridgeville They welcomed six children and eventually five grandkids and five great-grandkids.
His free time was normally spent hunting or fishing or spending time with his grandkids.
He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, a good Western and a cup of plain coffee. He was quiet and reserved but would do anything for his family, especially if it made his wife happy. He will be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing, his love for his grandkids and great-grandkids, and his calm, steady presence. We couldn't have asked for a better husband, dad or grandpa and will miss him everyday. We take comfort in knowing he's pain free and able to do what he enjoys most.
He was preceded in death by parents Clyde and Lillia Rines; a brother, Clyde Rines; and a baby sister Flora Rines.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann; four sons, Clyde (Pam), Dwight (Penny), Vincent and Donnie; two daughters, Carmen and Dianna; a granddaughter, Kimberly (Todd); a grandson, Randy (Hannah); three grandkids, Becca, Davlyn and Bailey; and five great-grandkids, Faith, James, Kingsley, Finley and Brayden; one sister, Sally Leininger; and one brother, Dick Rines.
A private graveside service will be held at a later time for the family.
Services have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Ridgeville Chapel.
