Tractor hit
A Pennville man was injured when a Bluffton woman’s vehicle struck his tractor along Indiana 1 about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Leah J. Jackson, 36, was driving a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country north on the highway when she approached a northbound 2020 agricultural tractor driving in front of her.
She began to pass the tractor driven by 68-year-old Jacob D. Wengerd and hit the tractor, causing it to leave the road and land on its side, damaging both vehicles.
Wengerd sustained three broken ribs, back injuries and various scrapes on his head and hands.
Jackson complained of chest pain.
Both vehicles were towed, with damage estimated between $25,000 and $50,000.
Schedule change
The Portland trash pick-up schedule will be altered next week because of the Christmas holiday.
