Tribe takes down PHS
ROCKFORD, Ohio — Only one Indian broke double figures.
But the Tribe’s defense left the Panthers scratching their heads as they fell by double digits.
The Fort Recovery High School boys basketball team shut down the Parkway Panthers in the second half for a 41-28 victory on Friday.
The Indians (4-1, 1-1 Midwest Athletic Conference) came out of halftime with a defensive fervor, only allowing Parkway (1-3, 0-2 MAC) to score one bucket in the third quarter.
Hudson Overman led the scoring for Fort Recovery with 12 points on a pair of first-quarter threes, two buckets in the fourth and two free throws.
Breaker Jutte hit a bucket in each period to add nine points, while Brody Barga contributed seven and Douglas Bihn had six.
Grant Fortkamp and Braylon Dilworth also scored for FRHS with four and three points, respectively.
Eli Schumm led Parkway with nine points. The rest of the Panthers had six or less points.
Fort Recovery held a 20-17 lead going into halftime. The Indians opened the half with a lopsided third quarter that favored them 10-2. The Tribe finished off the Panthers with an 11-10 advantage.
While the Tribe comes back to the court today to face Ansonia, it won’t have another MAC game until Jan. 9 against New Bremen.
