Donna Imel

Donna Imel, age 93, a resident of Portland, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, at her home in Portland.

Donna was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Adams County, Indiana, the daughter of Orlando and Rose Marie (Fairchild) Brunner. She worked for Jay Garment for nine years and then was a homemaker. 

Donna married Carl Imel Sr. on April 22, 1950, he passed away on Feb. 26, 2018, after 68 years of marriage.

Survivors include:

Two sons — Carl Imel Jr. (wife: Ruby), Pennville, Indiana, and William Imel (wife: Lisa), Portland, Indiana

Two daughters — Rosemary Armantrout (husband: William), Portland, Indiana, Donna Marie Imel, Bluffton, Indiana, and Betty Imel, Portland, Indiana

Twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebeca Sue Imel; and a brother, Eugene M. Brunner.

Visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 6 p.m.

Burial will be held at a later date at Antioch Cemetery south of Portland.

Memorial may be directed to the Portland Fire Department.
