Janice Stucky

Janice Sue Stucky, age 82, of Portland passed away on Thursday, Jan. 15, 202,5 in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare. 

She was born in Portland on Oct. 31, 1942, the daughter of Oren and Flora Isabelle (Wolfe) Stucky. 

Janice Sue was retired as an elementary school teacher at Westlawn Elementary after 35 years. She was a member of the Portland Friends Church, Retired Teachers Association, American Association of University Women, Dunkirk BPW/Career Women, Redkey Delta Theta Tau, Do a Lot Demonstration Club, Jay County Historical Society, Jay County Hospital Auxilary and Genealogical Society. She was a 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award winner and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ball State University.

Surviving are several cousins.

There will be private funeral services with burial in the Green Park Cemetery.

Baird-Freeman Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
