Sylvia Coons
Sylvia Coons, age 79, a resident of Redkey, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, at her home.
Sylvia was born Dec. 30, 1945, the daughter of Everett and Mary (Gruden) Hultz. She worked as a cook at Albany Nursing Home for 27 years and was a member of the Redkey American Legion Auxiliary.
She married Charles “Red” Coons on June 13, 1964.
Survivors include:
Her husband — Charles “Red” Coons, Redkey, Indiana
Her siblings — Mary Miller, New Haven, Indiana, Martha Maddox (husband: Chuck), Hartford City, Indiana, and Rafard Hultz, Hartford City, Indiana
Several nieces and nephews
Private graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, south of Redkey.
Arrangements entrusted to Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
