Meeker report touts future of AI
A Portland native has weighed in on the impact of AI.
Jay County High School graduate Mary Meeker recently released a 340-page regarding Artificial Intelligence and related investments, business models and implications.
Meeker, a principle with investment firm BOND Capital, became known as the “Queen of the Internet” in the 1990s because of her Internet Trend reports that accurately predicted various industry shifts. She had taken a six-year step back from the reports before her recent release, which she authored along with her BOND partners Jae Simons, Daegwon Chae and Alexander Krey.
In summary, the report projects that in the next 10 to 20 years, AI will be as important to daily life as the internet is today.
“Artificial intelligence is reshaping the modern landscape at breakneck speed,” the report says.
AI uptake is accelerating in the workplace and has the potential to shape how people spend the one third of their lives at work,” it continues. “As usage patterns evolve and unit costs decline, we may be witnessing the early stages of an internet where intelligence is the default interface — accessible, contextual, and increasingly personal.

“When we began this work to expand services and access to better meet the needs of the increasing population, it became clear the hospital needed a name that better reflects this growth and the broader population we serve,” Soula Banich, vice president and chief operations officer supporting IU Health Fishers, said in a press release.
Following the expansion, IU Health Fishers will be the organization’s fourth-largest in Indiana.

It goes beyond just getting a stamp of approval from an agency like The Joint Commission; we endeavor to create a safe place to work and receive treatment,” said Dr. Rob Ryan, Bowen Health president and CEO, in a press release. “Beyond that, we are always looking to improve, and comparing ourselves against our peers and standards makes us stronger as an organization.”
