Super summer reading starts now
Jay County Public Library’s super summer reading challenge starts this week.
Reading logs are available at the library for all ages. They include a superhero-themed task to complete. Once finished, forms may be turned in for an entry to prizes and a free hero badge.
There are six hero badges to collect. Infants through children age 12 will receive a free book for each reading log they complete, along with a chance to win a bicycle, a 3D pen or a remote-control robot, among other items.
Teens and adults will have a chance to win prize baskets.
All forms must be turned in by 1 p.m. July 19. A community hero celebration is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. July 10 at the library, with participants to receive completion prizes while supplies last.
There’s also a coloring contest going on this week at the library. Coloring pages are available for two age categories, for children ages 5 through 9 and children ages 10 through 13. Pages are available at the circulation desk, and entries are limited to one per child. Entries must be turned in by 5 p.m. Friday.
