Jay County Public Library and Jay County Farm Bureau will partner for a Cookies & Canvas event for elementary school children on Thursday. Sessions begin at 4 and 6 p.m.

Registration is required by stopping in at the library, 315 N. Ship St., Portland, or calling (260 726-7890.

The Taste of Fort Recovery will kick off at 6 p.m. Thursday on the brick portion of Wayne Street. The event will include from a variety of area vendors. Island Vibe will perform at 8 p.m.
