Phyllis Franklin
Phyllis Franklin, 83, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Fort Wayne.
She was born in Portland, Indiana, to the late Merle and Geraldine Strock.
Phyllis was a nurse at Harlan Elementary School for 10 years until she transitioned to becoming an ICU nurse at Parkview for 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed genealogy and history, traveling, and visiting with family and friends.
She will be deeply missed by her many friends and family.
Phyllis is survived by her two sons, Brad Franklin (Jill) New Haven, Indiana, and Brian Franklin (Christina), Fulton, Indiana; grandchildren Megan Lough (Clint), Chelsea Romines (Brad), Austin Franklin, Morgan Beard (Daulton), Jesse Minick (Francisca), Jamie Rozzi (John) and Cody, Cory, Josh (Brittney) and Jake Franklin; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sharon Brew and Barbara Swaim.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Franklin.
A public visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at FairHaven Funeral Home, 6557 N. Clinton St., Fort Wayne, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Taylor Chapel Ministries, 10145 Maysville Road, at 11 a.m. with calling starting one hour prior at 10 a.m. A private urn burial will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or Indiana Donor Network.
