Seniors honored

Jay County High School’s seniors were awarded almost $1.8 million in awards and scholarships Monday during its annual Honors Night.

Of that total, $372,090 came from local sources, including $296,990 through The Portland Foundation. 

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship came to $154,350 for Aubrey Millspaugh. (Other finalists were Madelynn Snow, Morgan DeHoff, Ella Stockton and Coryn Blalock.)

The remaining $1.3 million came from colleges, universities and technical schools.

“To our exceptional students, your commitment to excellence in academics, leadership and service is truly inspiring,” said assistant principal James Myers. “Congratulations on all you’ve accomplished.”
