Shannon, Champ compete in Westfield Regional

WESTFIELD — The JC Flipsters Xcel Gold team competed in the Region 5 Xcel Regional Championships at Grand Park Sports Complex over the weekend for Team Indiana.

The competition included teams from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.

Aubree Shannon led the Flipsters by finishing seventh all-around with a score of 37.3 points in the Senior C division.

Shannon performed the best during her floor routine, where she finished sixth with a 9.525.

She placed ninth on the vault with a 9.175, while finishing 10th on the bars (9.5) and the beam (9.1).

Jordyn Champ earned 11th all-around with 36.775 points out of the Senior A division.

Champ climbed all the way up to second place on the floor, scoring 9.65 points.

She fell to 14th on the beam and the vault, netting 9.075 and 8.8 points, respectively.

Her day rounded out with an 18th-place finish on the bars as she was awarded 9.25 points.
