Bloomfield goodbye
Students enjoy final day of the school year
By Lindy Mercer
The last day of school.
At Bloomfield Elementary School on Friday, it served as a celebration and a send-off.
Students enjoyed a lunch outside and were treated with ice cream afterward. Tom Brinkerhoff, of TJ's Jammin' Tunes was on hand to provide music.
In the morning, students got to duct tape librarian Amy Hawbaker to the wall for achieving their reading goals, and the top PTO pie fundraising students got to smash Principal Ben Dues in the face with whipped cream. Kindergarteners went down “the big slide” for the first time, signifying the completion of their first year of school.
