The Patriots already had eight qualifiers for the regional meet by finishing in the top three. Now they have word that they will get to compete in four more events as well.
The Jay County High School girls track team got callbacks in four events based off the results from Tuesday's IHSAA Sectional 12 hosted by Delta.
After finishing fourth with a time of 10 minutes, 31.62 seconds, the 4x800-meter relay team of Paityn Wendel, Jessie Homan, Ava May and Brooklynn Byrum received a callback to compete at the Regional 3 hosted by Carroll on May 27. The relay team is seeded 12th in the event.
Another fourth-place finisher, Maria Hemmelgarn, will compete in the regional as well after having one of the top four marks among non-qualifying athletes in the pole vault. Her height of 8 feet that she achieved on the first attempt has her tied for the 15th seed.
Jordyn Hutzler finished fifth in the discus with a throw of 95 feet even, but received a callback as well. She was the final athlete to make the field, leaving her as the 16th seed.
Despite finishing seventh in the long jump at the sectional, Peyton Carpenter received a callback as all four of the extra spots went to competitors from the Delta sectional. Her distance of 15 feet, 9 inches, is seeded 12th in the field.

The first two Indians of the sixth inning were outs before Colson Post drew a walk. Reece Wendel followed with a home run to left field, giving Fort Recovery (15-8) a 3-1 lead. A pair of errors by Fort Loramie (12-10) gave Alex Gaerke the opportunity to drive two more runs in on a double to center field.
Grisez got the win for the Tribe after throwing three innings. He gave up one hit and one walk, while not allowing any runs to score. Gaerke started the game off for FRHS, striking out seven batters over four innings.
