Frederick Coy

Frederick A. Coy, age 60, of Portland passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, in Cardinal Healthcare in Muncie. 

He was born in Portland on Sept. 2, 1965, the son of Fred and Patricia (Overla) Coy Jr. 

Fred had worked for the Jay County Highway Department and helped in farming. He was a 1983 Jay County High School graduate and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his mother Patricia Coy of Portland; and two sisters, Patty Billington of Portland and Sally Wittwer of Portland. 

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Rose Coy.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. in Hudson Park in Portland.

Funeral arrangements are pending in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home.
