Patriots take down Adams Central 4-1

One of the four blips on the Patriots’ record came at the hands of an Allen County Athletic Conference foe. The second time they faced a conference opponent, the Patriots came out on top.

The Jay County High School boys tennis team picked up a 4-1 conference victory over the Adams Central Jets on Tuesday.

Both doubles teams needed three sets to pull out wins. Kadyn Carpenter and Alex Miller beat Mason Fruechte and Brody Ischg 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 1 doubles position, while Gabe Overton and Brock Wasson won the No. 2 doubles match 6-3, 4-6, 6-0.

Paul Dirksen picked up a point at the No. 1 singles position by defeating Logan Heiman 6-2, 6-3.

Clark Wellman had the other win over Braxton Gerber 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 3 singles match. Henry Dirksen suffered the sole loss for JCHS (10-4, 1-1 ACAC) to Zach Frank 6-2, 7-5 in the No. 2 singles match.

Tribe slips

Jay falls
