Althea Millsap, age 95, of Portland passed away on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, in Albany Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
She was born in Portland on Sept. 20, 1930, the daughter of Forrest and Letha (Thornton) Miller. She was married on June 21, 1952, to Veryl Landon, and he passed away on March 12, 1991. She later married Joseph Millsap, and he passed away in 2019.
Althea was a beautician and owner of Avon Beauty Shop. She was a Portland High School graduate and attended Salamonia Church of Christ. She was an avid bowler and golfer and loved spending time in Texas.
Surviving are one son, Larry Landon (wife: Beth) of Portland; two grandchildren, Andy Landon (wife: Randin) of Portland and Missy May (husband: John) of Portland; and six great-grandchildren, Taylor May, Danielle May, Natalie May, Chris Landon (wife: Abby), Kenzie Landon and Matt Landon.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Phillips presiding. Visitation will be Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Green Park Cemetery.
