Jay wrestlers suffer first loss
The Class 2A No. 1 Jay County High School boys wrestling team lost its first match of the season to the No. 3 Delta Eagles 48-29 on Tuesday as part of a tri-meet. The Patriots topped Yorktown 38-24 before the loss.

The Jay County High School girls basketball team used its defense to create offense and crashed the offensive glass often in its 64-13 win over the Muncie Central Bearcats on Tuesday night.

Patriots are Super 6 champs
The Class 2A No. 3 Jay County High School boys wrestling team came out on top at the Western Super 6 on Saturday at Western High School defeating Logansport, Hamilton Heights, Harrison, Madison Grant and Class 2A No. 2 Western.

The Fort Recovery High School boys basketball team knocked down eight of its 14 fourth-quarter free throws, including five in the final minute to hold off the Jay County Patriots and win its season opener 38-31 Saturday night.

Jay County tames Bulldogs
Mallory Winner was one of five athletes from the Jay County High School girls wrestling team to win a match as it took down Centerville 45-12 while the Class 2A No. 3 boys team demolished the visiting Bulldogs 63-15.
Tankers split with Bluffton
The Jay County High School girls swim team demolished the visiting Bluffton Tigers 198-44 in its home opener Tuesday as the Patriots took first in every event. The boys team was on the other end of the score as the Allen County Athletic Conference foe took it down 220-76.
Six named to All-ACAC teams
Two members of the Jay County High School football team were named to the first team All-Allen County Athletic Conference on Friday, with four more earning second-team honors.
360 slammed
Richmond opened the game with an alley-oop dunk, got a 360 slam in the midst of a 20-point run and rolled over the Jay County High School boys basketball team 61-20 in its home opener.
2nd half shift
Jay County High School’s girls basketball team blanked Woodlan’s leading scorer in the second half Friday and her teammates struggled for a long stretch to fill the void as the Patriots handed the Warriors their first defeat of the year, 60-53.
