Senior Aixa Lopez poured in three goals in a span of less than 10 minutes to spur the Jay County High School girls soccer team past the Richmond Red Devils in a 4-0 season-opening home victory on Monday.

Griffin Bryum clinched a regional berth out of the No. 3 position, but it wasn’t enough to get the Jay County High School boys golf team to a top-three finish in the IHSAA Sectional 19 hosted by Monroe Central and Hickory Hills Golf Club on Tuesday as they finished fourth.
Griffin leads finale
The Jay County High School boys golf team posted what would have been a 166 in a match on Tuesday against Wes-Del, which only had three golfers and couldn’t post a team score, at Portland Golf Club to finish the regular season.
